Jesus Christ was a man of prayer - and in this too He is our great role model!
“Lord, teach us to pray” (Luke 11:1)
What He did for God and people was always done in prayer. He did not have a rigid or legalistic prayer life that was limited to certain places and certain times of day.
He prayed in the desert, on the mountain, at the tomb of Lazarus, in Gethsemane and on calvary. The Bible shows us examples of how He prayed early in the morning, at noon, in the evening and at night.
He also lived in a constant attitude of prayer, so that He could say: "But I am always in prayer" (Ps 109:4).
God calls us to pray continually without ceasing (see 1 Thess 5:17). He wants us to live in a permanent attitude of prayer throughout the day, in addition to the times when we talk to Him out loud. This means that we include Him in all situations of life and place Him continually before us in our thoughts.
This is how Jesus Christ lived - and this is how we should live too!
