The Alpha and the Omega
Jesus Christ says in Revelation 22: "I am the Alpha and the Omega" (Rev 22:13)
These are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. This means that Christ is the expression of God. He is the sum and content of all what God has to say to us.
This title, the Alpha and the Omega, is mentioned three times in the Bible: In Revelation 1, in connection with His eternal deity and omnipotence. In Revelation 21, in connection with the eternal state. And in Revelation 22, in connection with His coming at the Rapture and the reward that will then be given.
When the prophets in the Old Testament prophesied, the Spirit of Jesus spoke in them (1 Peter 1:11). At the end of days, God has spoken to us in His Son - as Hebrews 1 says.
He is the great prophet who continuously spoke the words of God under the guidance of the Spirit of God (John 3:35). For He is the eternal Word that became flesh - the Word of life! In Him, God has revealed Himself. For whoever has seen Him has seen the Father.
