The Last Half!
“And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying, Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.” (Jonah 3:1-2)
In 1929, a University of California player named Roy Riegels picked up a fumble, got turned around, ran eighty yards the wrong way, and scored a touchdown for Georgia Tech, the side that he was playing against. He became instantly infamous. All his life he was known as “Wrong Way” Riegels.
Understandably, at halftime there was dead silence in the California locker room. When it was time to go back out, the California's coach said, “Gentlemen, the game is only half over. We have another half to play. Roy, go back to your position.”
It is said that Roy Riegels played the greatest game of his life after the coach gave him a second chance.
God often calls us back to the field in grace and gives us another chance. May it be said of us that such an opportunity was the greatest moment of our lives!
