Finding complete rest in Christ

“I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content” (Philippians 4:11)

We should trust that Christ gives us the strength and grace we need for every situation at every moment of our lives. Even when the circumstances or the tasks He gives us may overwhelm us. His grace is sufficient!

That is why what Paul writes to Timothy also applies to us: "You then, my child, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus" (2 Timothy 2:1). In other words: Rely on the grace that God has promised you. The grace in which you stand. The grace that supplies you with what you need right now!

Paul also writes in Ephesians 3:20 that God is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think—through the power of the Holy Spirit that works within us! His power is made perfect in weakness!

Our problem is not our weakness but that we think we are strong in ourselves.

Jesus said: "Apart from me, you can do nothing." But with Him, that is, in the strength that He gives, we can do everything that is God's will for us. This also applies to the sin that still dwells in us. To the temptations you face. God gives you victory through Christ. Even in this regard, you can say: Christ lives in me, and "I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

Therefore, remember: You are in God's school. He wants you to learn more and more to find complete rest in Christ. To be content with what God has intended for you. He wants to give you the strength to do so.
